This is an introductory-level Rust get-together.
This get-together will be an ad-hoc explanation of some of the aspects of Rust that made learning Rust difficult for the presenter. Which aspects are discussed at what level will be determined by the other participants, but the borrow checker and scoping are likely to dominate. Other possibilities include the orphan rule, closure's unique types, Rust's async system (and pinning), the problem with self-referential data structures, macros as well as the psychological aspect of there simply being so much in the language.
Pizza and beverages will be provided.
The host and speaker for this event is Cliff Matthews:
Cliff Matthews (aka Lazy Young Deadhead) has been programming a long time. He lost his memory in a poker game and consequently relies on Rust to have his back (since he can't remember large codebases ... or anything).
