This is an introductory-level Rust get-together.

Bring a laptop (or don't). Those who want to will [install Rust](https://www.rust-lang.org/tools/install) and some tools (e.g., [trunk](https://trunkrs.dev/)) and then we'll explore code (whether you've installed Rust or not).

We'll look at [BurntSushi](https://github.com/BurntSushi)'s [ripgrep](https://github.com/BurntSushi/ripgrep) because it's awesome and his level of detail in everything is something to aspire to. We'll also look at some of [my](https://github.com/ctm) code, because it's horrible and may inspire you via "if *he* can do it, how hard can it be?"

Another reason to look at some of my code is I have a couple of tiny proof-of-concept Rust-only web clients that demonstrate how to do some things that are traditionally done via JavaScript:

* [upload](https://github.com/ctm/upload), which does client-side uploads and stores them via [IndexDB](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/IndexedDB_API) and
* [broadcast](https://github.com/ctm/broadcast), which allows two web pages to communicate using the [Broadcast Channel API](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Broadcast_Channel_API).

He lost his memory in a poker game and consequently relies on Rust to have his back (since he can't remember large codebases ... or anything).
