About us

Thanks to the growing community, we can debate big ideas with people all over the world... Simultaneously!!

https://ideas-exchange.info/

Join our global community of minds and share with people in different countries and from all backgrounds thorough our weekly online debates. Imagine debating with people in 10 different countries at the same time... How awesome is that?

This is a safe, inclusive and respectful space designed to talk to other humans, learn from one another and implement our ideas, in all relevant aspects of life.

We will discuss both “big” and “small” ideas, talking about the past, present, and future, the ideal world and our everyday reality.

Each Meetup will have a main focus subject, with a wide margin to explore other interesting topics.

Our main rule:

“I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Some subjects we’ll explore:

Human wellbeing and psychology Relationships and family Society, economics and politics Lifestyles, cultures and languages Technology and futurism Philosophy, religions and ideologies The “why” and “what for” of life

And many more, that we’ll decide on together…

Welcome to the global community of Ideas Exchange!

What does privacy mean in a world where almost everything we do leaves a trace?
From smartphones and facial recognition to social media, smart cameras, AI tools, financial data, workplace monitoring, and location tracking, surveillance is no longer something that only happens in spy movies or authoritarian regimes. It is built into everyday life. Often, we accept it willingly because it makes life safer, faster, easier, or more convenient.
But where is the line between protection and control? Between convenience and manipulation? Between public safety and a society where people quietly change their behavior because they know they might be watched?
In this discussion, we’ll explore the rise of mass surveillance, the trade-offs we make every day, and the uncomfortable question at the center of it all: if we have nothing to hide, does that really mean we have nothing to fear?
Key Topics We Will Talk About
    • What counts as surveillance today: phones, cameras, apps, smart devices, biometrics, data brokers, and AI
    • The safety bargain: how much privacy are we willing to give up to prevent crime, terrorism, fraud, or disorder?
    • The “nothing to hide” argument: why privacy matters even when we are not doing anything wrong
    • Government vs corporate surveillance: who should worry us more, the state or big tech?
    • AI and facial recognition: how machines are changing what it means to be watched
    • Convenience surveillance: why we voluntarily use tools that track, predict, and profile us
    • Workplace and school monitoring: when accountability becomes control
    • Social media and self-surveillance: how we perform, edit, and expose ourselves online
    • Who gets watched first: activists, migrants, workers, minorities, dissidents, and vulnerable groups
    • Surveillance and freedom: do people think, speak, or act differently when they know they are being observed?
    • Regulation and red lines: what should be banned, limited, or accepted?
    • The future of privacy: can we still opt out, or is anonymity becoming impossible?
Whether you’re interested in technology, politics, psychology, security, ethics, AI, or the future of freedom, this conversation will be a chance to compare perspectives, challenge assumptions, and ask what kind of society we are building when watching becomes normal.
