with Au Mendoza Soriano of PinoyTravel
Au Soriano is the CEO and co-founder of PinoyTravel, an online booking service for provincial buses and Ferries.
Prior to her startup, she worked for the telecom industry and held various positions- mostly in business development- for Bayantel, Globe Telecom and Smart Communications. Au says that her experience in the corporate environment had helped navigate the complex world of starting a business from scratch.
- Balancing Social Good and the Balance Sheet
with Rachel de Villa of Cropital
Rachel De Villa is a 24 year-old software engineer and the CTO and co-founder of Cropital. Founded on November last year, her team of young hustlers aim to bring low-cost and sustainable financing to our local farmers and tackle the problem of farmers poverty in the Philippines where majority of farmers live below the poverty line. Together, they've been recognized in the US, Netherlands, Malaysia, and all over the Philippines to share their vision and have raised over US$ 60,000 funding more than 50 farmers in 4 provinces in the Philippines. She was awarded as one of the Woman in Business Start up of the Year in ASEAN, one of this year’s Jollibee Yumbassadors and was recently included in the inaugural Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list under the Finance and VC category.

with Rio Ilao of Tarkie
Rio Palabrica-Ilao graduated with honors in Ateneo de Manila University in 2001 with a BS Management Engineering degree. She then worked in Procter & Gamble Finance where her stellar performance allowed her to get assigned in Singapore and Japan, handling global brands like SK-II and Pantene. At the height of her career, she resigned in 2009 to help her husband manage a growing retail business. In 2012, she and her husband co-founded MobileOptima, Inc. to develop products that will help SMEs take advantage of mobile technology. Currently, Tarkie boasts of more than 1,000 users and big clients such as Bounty Fresh, Silka Papaya, Ever Bilena, Fortune Care, etc. Despite her busy schedule, she still finds time to tutor her 3 kids. :)
