Are you ready for the AI takeover?

Details

I was an early adopter of ChatGPT, using it to learn faster coding back then. I liked to play with it.

Scroll almost three years later, and my bosses from two companies I work for spam me with emails and conference calls strongly suggesting to use it to "be more efficient". In other words, lose it or we lose you.

And it's not surprising. These past years large companies had their FAANGs in this juicy AI market, and this year marks the first they managed to balance out the costs and make profits.

On this meeting we'll discuss questions like:

  1. Has this happened to you as well in your workplace?
  2. Has it made what used to be a fun and time saving activity to being just a chore?
  3. Can you really do the work of two or more people using AI?
  4. Elephant in the room: How secure you feel in your workplace now?

To help guide the discussion, here are some references to consider:

  1. What Happens When AI Replaces Workers?- TIME Magazine opinion piece, trying to be balanced on the pros and cons of AI automation.
  2. The AI Paradox - A short video on the idea that automation is self-destructive, because replacing people with AI means people won't have the money to buy the things companies sell (AI focused new jobs will be out of the ability of large segments of the population to perform them, leaving them unemployed).

The meeting is free to attend, but please buy a drink or two at our patron's place (to be updated by end of this week, somewhere in central Prague), to make them happy.
