## Professor Allen Robinson

## Dean of the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering at CSU

In this presentation he will share some observations and plans for the College developed during his first year as Dean. It will highlight two initiatives – the development of a new $150M Center in high-powered lasers and the creation of a common first-year experience for undergraduate engineering students. CSU’s new High-Power Laser Center builds upon decades of research excellence led by University Distinguished Professors Jorge Rocca and Carmen Menoni.
The new first-year experience will strengthen our students’ foundational skills while providing them with the time and resources to explore the engineering disciplines offered at the college. This research-based program will generate better outcomes, better students, and better engineers.
