"Machine Learning Subfield: Active Learning" - Michael Bloodgood, The College of New Jersey

Abstract:
Active learning is a subfield of machine learning that deals with minimizing the amount of data needed for learning. This talk will provide an overview of the main features of active learning. Special emphasis will be placed on automatic detection of when to stop active learning.

Speaker's Biography:
Michael Bloodgood is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at The College of New Jersey. His research interests include Active Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Translation. Michael has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Delaware.
