For RSVP and info: https://meetings.vtools.ieee.org/m/46734

Imagine organizing a project for the benefit of humanity. Take a look at the projects funded by the Humanitarian Activities Committee (http://www.ieee.org/about/hac_funded_projects_report_june_2016_print.pdf) and EPICS Projects (http://epics.ieee.org/program/projects-list/). We can think about doing something locally that would benefit humanity. A project to mitigate the risks of flooding comes to mind, since we have had increased flooding in recent years, devastating local communities. And we could build the next MOVE Truck (http://move.ieeeusa.org/) to further serve people in disaster areas. Or create a Drone Assistance Project. I’m sure there are others. Think big! And we'll apply for grants to make your dream possible! Here's a video (http://sight.ieee.org/) to get you thinking! We can involve students if you like. See "The Benefits of Volunteerism" (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/31/your-money/31shortcuts.html?mcubz=0)

Join us for snacks, a glass of wine, good company and a fantastic book club, focused on SURVIVING AND THRIVING IN THE TECH INDUSTRY.
