What we're about

New to Coding? If you're a woman who's never coded before, this group is for you. We can help you get started with coding tutorials, laptop setup, and more.

Not a Newbie? Experienced women coders of any level are encouraged to come and improve their coding skills, whether hobbyist or professional. We use Python, but not in isolation: JS, Ruby, HTML, CSS, C, and other languages are essential tools of many Python users, and we encourage exploration.

PyLadies is an international mentorship group with a focus on helping more women become active participants and leaders in the Python open-source community. PyLadies also aims to provide a friendly support network for women and a bridge to the larger Python world.

To provide a supportive, distraction-free learning environment, we have a code of conduct (http://www.pyladies.com/CodeOfConduct/).

IE Pyladies is especially welcoming to women from diverse backgrounds (race, age, LGBT, disability, nationality, etc). Read more about intersectionality (http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/wiki/Intersectionality).

Python+JavaScript for the Stock Market
Needs a date and time

Want to learn how to use Python and JavaScript to analyze the stock market? Want to see how people automatically trade stocks, based on certain conditions they define in Python code? No experience with programming is necessary. RSVP or comment here if this topic interests you. If there is interest, I'll put it on the schedule for the group.
