Book Club: Simon Sinek's fully made up & self-aggrandizing Start With Why
Details
Join us for the second session of a book club inspired by the If Books Could Kill Podcast!
Be sure to check out the podcast if you haven't because that is the style of discussion we will have (generally negative while acknowledging the good, and from a leftist/progressive perspective)!
We'll be discussing Simon Sinek's obnoxious (but bestselling) book Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action at Board Room in Clarendon
Happy Hour/Introductions 6:30-7:00
Book Discussion 7:00-8:30
Obviously you'll best be able to participate if you read the book, but in the style of the podcast, you can also attend and learn/ask questions if you haven't read it. Want to be somewhere in the middle? You can watch Simon Sinek's TED Talk on the topic. Lots of the book reviews say that the book is just the TED Talk with gratuitous fluff added.
Please do not buy a new copy of this book! There is a PDF available online, borrow it from a friend, support a used bookstore, or get a copy from the library (Did you know you can get a ton of library cards if you live anywhere in the DMV? Info here!) If you need help finding an ethical copy, please reach out!
Look for us at a table with a sign with the group logo on it!
