For our June session, we’ll have two speakers, each sharing their industry insights and experience.

Brett Thompson is a game developer and designer with a background in programming, QA, and training. He previously worked at Steel Wool Studios and contributed to Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted. Currently, he develops independent game projects in Unreal Engine 5, focusing on gameplay-driven experiences inspired by classic platformers and adventure games. His current project, Tails of Kit, is a 3D collectathon platformer that blends Japanese folklore with nostalgic N64-era design philosophy.

Jay Owens-Thompson is a solo indie game developer, 2D/3D artist, and founder of Ignitus Studios. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Game Design and Art as well as a Master's degree in Business and Entrepreneurship, combining creative expertise with a strong understanding of game development and studio growth. Jay specializes in creating immersive games that blend engaging gameplay, compelling storytelling, and distinctive visual design. As a solo developer, she manages every aspect of development, including game design, programming, 2D and 3D art, audio, and world-building, allowing her to bring ideas to life from concept to release.
