IGDA LAS VEGAS: October MEETUP

Please join us as we RELAUNCH the IGDA of Las Vegas at our NEW HOME:
SKILLZ
6625 Badura Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89118

We will be meeting from 6 PM until 8 PM on October 28th. To celebrate the relaunch, we have a very special returning guest speaker:

Camille Kay is a Technical Artist on the Developer Relations team at Epic Games, where she works to empower developers through specialized support and guidance. With a background in animation, digital art, and interactive entertainment, her passion is at the intersection of art and technology. Throughout her career, Camille has led the creative development of original award-winning virtual reality content and provided technical art leadership on a wide variety of games and experiences with indie, AA, and AAA studios.

She will be presenting a talk on Soft Skills for Devs of All Disciplines: Soft skills are a key part of working with a team in our highly-collaborative industry, but they're often taught indirectly and on-the-job. In this session, we demystify expectations and explore these skills in the context of a work product's lifecycle: from understanding the heart of the work, to managing stakeholder expectations, communicating with teammates, highlighting your contributions, and more. It's focused on context, communication, consideration, and industry-specific tips that will hopefully make it easier and more enjoyable to work together on what we're passionate about.
