Level Up Tuesdays – a monthly event from IGDA NYC and Coexist GameHouse! Level Up Tuesdays is your new go-to space to connect, learn, and grow with fellow game developers in NYC. Every month, we will feature a talk from an industry professional, after which, there will be spotlights/demos of local games, alongside a cool place to network with other game devs.

This Month’s Speaker: Robert Lopez

Robert is a co-founder and board member with NYC Gaymers. For his talk, “The ‘Y’ in Gaymers: Representation in Gaming,” Robert will lead a discussion on LGBTQIA+ communities throughout gaming, the importance of intersectional representation, and exploring ways to increase inclusion and safer spaces across gaming.

Each month, we feature two playable games from local indie devs during the event.

This Month's Games are:

Banned Together by Unquiet Games - A queer mystery game about book banning. Play as Ruby (they/them), a journalism major on a surreal, after-hours adventure to investigate the disappearance of books from their college library.

Nightmare Kart by LWMedia - Play as a beast hunter, conscripted against your will to participate in a most peculiar local custom: a tournament where participants race atop mysterious vehicles comprised of copper and steam. Race through blood-soaked gothic streets atop one of 12 unique vehicles as you seek answers behind the origin of this nightmare.
