Level Up Tuesdays – a monthly event from IGDA NYC and Coexist GameHouse! Level Up Tuesdays is the go-to space to connect, learn, and grow with fellow game developers in NYC. Every month, we will feature a talk from an industry professional, after which, there will be spotlights/demos of local games, alongside a cool place to network with other game devs.

This Month’s Speaker: Tim Rattray (He/Him)

A professional games, tech, and entertainment writer with a specialty in engaging audiences through personable content and a penchant for seeking out popular and novel topics. Works include research and events regarding the intersection of mental health and games, and a docuseries about independent game developers in New York City.

For his talk, “Creating a NYC Game Dev Docuseries: The Journey so Far” Tim will discuss the docuseries that he's creating on the NYC game development scene. What it is, why he's making it, and some of the highlights and challenges thus far. Audience Participation is encouraged, as they will have a chance to have their own impact on the project, as well as asking any questions about it.

Each month, we feature two playable games from local indie devs during the event.

This Month's Games are:

pondlife: discone (a videogame) by Pondlife - An online multiplayer, momentum-based 3d-platformer. A nice, open game about opt-in challenge, finding climbing paths and attempting them. A world for players to find a far-off spire, play tag, or dance, while chatting about their day.

Nova by Jamal Woods- Take control of a bright star-like creature as you brightly bounce through asteroids in this arcade puzzle platformer.
