Sign up by December 17 at Harwood Lodge’s website, https://angeles.sierraclub.org/harwood_lodge.Click “When Can I Stay at the Lodge?” for calendar; click on December 24. Please bring your SC Card and cash or checks made out to “Sierra Club” (no online payments). Bring your spirit of sharing to the clean air, blue skies, and whispering pines which will all add to the joys of the season. Our tree will be decked in splendor, our table laden with delicious food to share. Bring an instrument to play and we’ll all join in for a songfest. Potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m on Christmas Eve (bring serving for 8, beverage of choice & appetizer to share at happy hour). The Lodge provides the turkey for Christmas Day potluck dinner (Happy hour at 3 p.m., dinner at 4 p.m.), while you provide all the side dishes and desserts. Other meals are on your own. Film festival, Scrabble tournament, puzzles to complete, books to read and stories to share around the fireplace. Lodge Host: Richard Boothe, [madlibrarian9@hotmail.com](mailto:madlibrarian9@hotmail.com).

Please note, Harwood Lodge is volunteer-run; everyone pitches in to keep the Lodge spic and span, especially washing and putting away everything in the kitchen during popular events. Due to the high altitude—6,000 feet—drink responsibly, limited to BYOB wine and beer.

Check your vehicle’s antifreeze at least one day before your trip, and bring snow chains. When snow covers Mt. Baldy on weekends, people for 20 miles around drive up to play. So, start early to beat the traffic.

The address is 7911 Mt. Baldy Road, Mt Baldy, CA 91759, but some GPSs cannot find the Lodge itself! Follow your GPS to Mt. Baldy Road in Claremont. Continue up Mt. Baldy Road through Baldy Village. Follow signs to Mt Baldy and the ski resort until the road makes a sharp right and starts downhill. Just before the road divides, look for the gravel driveway on the right to Harwood Lodge and its neighbor, the Zen Center. (If you drive past Snow Crest Lodge on the left side of Mt. Baldy Road you've gone too far). Drive up the gravel driveway, take left fork, and park close to the Lodge. You do not need an Adventure Pass to park in our lots. If for some reason your vehicle cannot climb the steep bit below the driveway's fork, you can park in the Zen Center's lot on the left side, across from the dumpster.
