Live stand-up comedy in English (and Japanese!) across Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe — powered by Kansai Comedy.
😂 WHAT THIS GROUP IS
This is where you'll find every stand-up show we run in Kansai: showcases, open mics, roast battles, touring headliners and special events. Kansai Comedy is an independent comedy community that started in Osaka in late 2024. We now run regular shows at Absinthe Underground (Osaka) and Kyoto, with more venues on the way.
Most of our English shows are free entry / pay-what-you-feel. Come for a drink, stay for the jokes.

- Japanese speakers who want to enjoy (or practice with!) comedy in English
- English speakers curious about Japanese-language comedy at our JP Open Mic

- Working comics looking for stage time, feedback and a crew to write with

- Meet people. Our shows are a friendly, mixed crowd, and the after-show hang is half the fun
- Get on stage. Open mic spots are open to everyone, from total beginners up
- Help build the scene. Kansai Comedy has been featured on NHK and in TimeOut Osaka, and we're growing a stand-up scene in Kansai that's run by the community
