16:30-17:15: Making Sense of Location: Tracking, Visualizing and Analyzing Objects in 2D, 3D and 4D

Hans Viehmann, Product Manager, Oracle EMEA

Location information is a common element in many Big Data scenarios, in Smart Cities or in the context of the Internet of Things. This kind of positional data can be explicitly expressed as coordinates if it comes from a GPS sensor or it can be implicitly included in a postal code, a city or a landmark name, occurring in two or three dimensions, potentially even using time as the 4th dimension. With the Oracle 12.2 Spatial and Graph option all of this information can be managed, analyzed and visualized. In this presentation we will look at the Oracle 12c release 2 new features specifically related to tracking and tracing of items, 3D models for smart cities, and in the context of Big Data scenarios. The session will cover various new development options as well as performance features and includes two short videos illustrating advanced visualization capabilities.
