Jonah’s Seafood House first opened in 1986, as the culmination of Terry and Pattie Waldschmidt’s desire to create a unique fine dining experience along the left bank of the Illinois River. Terry brought with him years of experience in the restaurant business, where he acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to produce the finest seafood and prepare it to perfection. From that original idea, their desire to continue to expand their offerings has since led to the creation of the 2601 Oyster Bar and the Market & Bake Shop.

We know restaurants and we know you. The owner and operators of Jonah’s Seafood House, the 2601 Oyster Bar, and the Market & Bake Shop span three generations of a local Central Illinois family. We are proud to continue providing a unique dining experience to the greater Peoria area for over 35 years.

From our fresh seafood to our attempts to provide the best possible service, our goal has always been to show that, when done correctly, a fantastic dining experience is not some privilege reserved for those in massive cities. The Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna is a Jonah’s Classic.

The 2601 Oyster Bar is a casual, seat-yourself atmosphere set in a world class oyster bar. The menu is an exciting mixture of oyster bar selections from around the nation. New York, San Francisco, New Orleans, Tampa and Miami are all represented. The house specialty is a wide offering of flat breads and the signature Cuban sandwich. Jonah’s "Down Under" Banquet Bar & Grill is a banquet facility with capacity from 20-300. Jonah's offers river level views and the cook-to-order style will make your next function the talk of the town!
