This is going to be the last meetup of 2025, and our guest speaker will be Jay Miller, Developer Advocate at Aiven, and we are delighted to welcome him back!
Talk title:
I'm afraid of the Database:
How to gain confidence in PostgreSQL as an App Developer
Talk Description:
As an app developer, my goal is to serve my users. I may love my tech stack, but secretly, I am terrified of the data layer.
In the AI world, we have more and more app developers, but with all this data lying around, we need to ensure that PostgreSQL as a community is approachable. This talk will look at my vibe coded application can how I used it to be less fearful of PostgreSQL.
About the speaker:
Jay Miller is a Staff Developer Advocate at Aiven. Jay is also the founder of Black Python Devs, where they work to extend the reach of Python communities, projects, and organizations to Black developers around the globe. When away from the keyboard, they can often be found cheering on their favorite baseball team.
Please RSVP here only if you are going to attend virtually.
For the in-person event, please RSVP here.
