Stop Squatters, Lifting Rent Control, What's Shaping Up

Details
The 104th Illinois General Assembly was inaugurated on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. In the 45 days since then, they created about 6400 bills. That’s about 142 bills a day if they met every day.
As it is, they only met three days a week.
Legislators have been busy, and that means your volunteers at IRPOA have been busy too, sifting through these bills for those that might affect you, your real estate investments, and your family.
On Monday, February 24, beginning at 7:00 p.m., we’ll highlight some of what we’ve found, including
- Illegal Possession/Unauthorized Possession – Squatters
- Screening – Credit, fees, and more
- Rent Control – A variety of bills to lift the ban
- Signage – Preventing restrictions on signs put up by residents
- Dog Breeds – No discriminating
- Property Taxes – Exemption proposals abound
Be prepared! Discover what could affect your investments so you may advocate for your rights as a housing provider.
Together, we can ensure a fair and prosperous environment for Illinois rental property owners and residents.
We start Monday, February 24, at 7:00 p.m.
This interactive session prepares you to communicate with your Senator, Representative, Mayor, Councilmember, or any elected official who shapes the laws and ordinances that affect you!
