New "BUILD" bills (Building Up Illinois Developments) dropped into the legislative process just last week. These arrived well after the normal deadlines for new legislation.

On the surface, these reforms look like progress for our industry. However, they contain hidden ways the State can call game-changing fouls against housing providers. We have spotted language regarding rent control and aggressive anti-screening measures.
