Set in New York City circa 1899, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right! Join us for this fictional retelling of the historic first strike ever carried out by kids!
CYT Youth Theater produces several professional quality musical theater productions each year in different areas in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Each production stars an auditioned cast of up to 120 talented students ages 5-18 who are currently enrolled in CYT performing arts classes.
You will be amazed by the talent, enthusiasm, and poise of these young performers.
