STOP PRESS Last minute places workshop - Unity, AI and Role playing platform

Details

This is a last-minute opportunity for a small number of Immersive Liverpool Members to engage with an artist led new approach to imaginative storytelling and speculative futures creation using a game engine and AI chatbots and collaborative role playing. Some spaces have opened up for a really interesting and fun workshop we are holding with our partners Abandon Normal Devices, Lancaster University and Manchester Met (details below).

We are looking for up to 5 people from the Immersive Liverpool community to join our team and invited researchers to help us engage in and feedback on a new platform for storytelling.

Led by creative studio BRiGHTBLACK, this interactive game-based workshop fuses digital world-building, AI storytelling, and speculative design to explore the future of human and planetary wellbeing in a post-labour world shaped by advanced AI.

Date Wednesday 18th June 2025
Time: 10am to 4pm with break for lunch.
Place: Redmonds Building, room RB137

AI APOCALYPSE: GARDENERS OF THE 5TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
A CREATIVE + CRITICAL THINKING GAME
At the heart of the workshop is the GROWDOME, a real-time 3D game environment where participants explore histories of technological change and imagine new roles for humanity beyond automation. Across the day, we will co-create beings, vote on survival, face unintended consequences, and write manifestos for the future of Barnsley and beyond. GROWDOME is an attempt to create a new approach to knowledge creation using imaginative participative world building and game play.
This is a hands-on creative workshop where participants engage with an emerging game environments, AI agents, physical media and each other to imagine futures beyond the 5th Industrial Revolution.
