SPEAKERS TOPICS:
Geoffrey Hunter (Manager, Data Science at Uberflip):
From dashboards to digital assistants, designers and data science teams act in an end-to-end capacity to help define and develop data-driven, intelligent products. Geoffrey will share some professional learnings around how design and data science teams have collaborated effectively and how this unique pairing can proactively circumvent some of the concerns related to ethics, customer privacy, and the users interpretation of AI-products.
Vanessa Ko (Senior Insights & Strategy Lead at Doblin):
Design Research x AI: While Canada aims to be a leader in AI, there is a lack of trust in increasing AI, especially as media amplifies continued ethical breaches with AI. We used design research to deeply understand the barriers Canadians had in trusting AI, and what the possible responses to building trust could be.
PANEL TOPICS (BY THEME):
- How can design (UX) and data work together?
- How should we practice/design data collection with regard to consent?
- How can we ethically design data friendly products?
