What we’re about
Come on down and get feedback on your latest standup material! We meet every other Sunday at Western Sky Brewery on south Broadway. There is an open mic there after the group as well—signups at 5:30. Starts at 6:00
We are open to anyone as long as you are actively performing at open mics or shows around Denver!
Here's what the group is about:
- Explore new ways of writing
- Brainstorm new bits with other funny folks
- Get feedback on your jokes before you get on stage
- Workshop ideas and jokes that are stuck
- This is a casual, no-pressure environment
The format is NOT performing on stage. This is NOT like the Drop-In class at Rise Comedy (which is awesome, but don’t mistake this group for that type of format).
We run through lines, new joke ideas, premises, topics, etc. We hang out for 2-3 hours and our loose agenda is:
We start by discussing past and upcoming mics/shows.
Then we run material and give/get feedback. Everyone gets 10 to 15 min. You can bring fully formed jokes or just an idea and ask the group, “Is there anything here?”
If there are enough people, we split up into smaller groups so everyone gets enough time!
