📣 Welcome to a rotating series of English-language improv comedy workshops at the M BAR (1245 rue St Andre), every Wednesday night (from 6:00-7:30pm)
💡 Develop confidence, think on your feet, and communicate with impact. These workshops are designed for professionals, creatives, and anyone looking to improve adaptability, collaboration, and self-expression. Through engaging exercises, you’ll strengthen your abilities in:
- Thinking Clearly Under Pressure 🧠
- Effective Communication & Active Listening 🎤
- Adaptability & Presence in the Moment ⚡
- Articulation & Assertiveness 🗣️
- Problem-Solving (and Problem-Making!) 🔄
💫 Whether you're preparing for high-pressure situations, enhancing public speaking skills, have aspirations to do comedy - or any other artistic discipline, or simply want to be more present and confident in daily life, these sessions provide a fun, low-stakes environment to practice essential life and career skills.
💣 And if you’re up for it, you’ll even have the opportunity to apply these skills in live improv performances throughout the year!
👛 Fee: 10$ CASH or 11$ E-TRANSFERS (at the beginning of each workshop). We welcome donations too!

Sunday IMPROV Sessions at the M BAR

📣 Welcome to the Sunday Improv Sessions at the M BAR! Whether you’re a complete novice or an experienced player looking for a consistent space to keep your skills sharp, these Sunday afternoon workshops are designed for you. Join us in the basement of the M Bar (1245 rue St Andre) every Sunday from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM for two hours of play, connection, and creative growth.
💡 Why Improv? These sessions focus on the core fundamentals of spontaneous thinking and short-form games. It’s a low-stakes environment to help you:
- Think Clearly Under Pressure 🧠
- Practice Active Listening & Collaboration 🎤
- Build Confidence & Presence ⚡
- Problem-Solve Through Play 🔄
💫 This is a space for professionals, creatives, and anyone looking to be more present and engaging in their daily life. We focus on giving you plenty of time on your feet to explore and make meaningful connections with a community of like-minded creators.
🍻 Stick Around Afterwards: We invite everyone to stay for a drink and a chat at the bar immediately following the session. It’s a great way to wind down the weekend, get to know your fellow players, and settle into the community.
The Deals
We want to keep these sessions accessible! Our suggested donation is $20 for a standard drop-in, but we have a few ways to make it easier to join:
- First-Timer Special: Only $10 for your very first session!
- Wingman Discounts: Bring a friend who’s never been, and you both get $5 off.
- The Monthly Taster: The first Sunday of every month is $10 flat for everyone. (Note: Deals cannot be stacked, but they are always available!)

- Performance Opportunities: Please note that guaranteed spots in our Wednesday Night Barprov shows are mostly reserved for our Conservatory Students. While exceptions can be made for experienced performers from other towns/countries/theatres, If your goal is to perform, these intensives are the path to get you there!

📣 Welcome to Wednesday Night Barprov! Our long-running Wednesday night residency is now a weekly showcase of English-language improv comedy at the M BAR (1245 rue St Andre).
💡 The Show: Come watch our Conservatory Students take the stage. These shows are great examples in spontaneous storytelling, sharp wit, and creative collaboration. Whether you're a comedy nerd, or just looking for a mid-week break from the kids and your partner that-you-want-to-strangle, this is the place to be.
You’ll see the principles of great comedy in action:

💫 The Social: Don’t rush off to those kids once the lights go down! We encourage everyone to stick around after the show for a social mixer. It’s a great chance to meet the performers, chat with the community, and grab a drink.
👛 Fee: This is a PWYC (Pay What You Can) show. We suggest a donation of $10–$20 to support the development of the M BAR Improv, but all are welcome!
