Most TBC Improv courses are 8-weeks, this one is different!
For those who want to expand their skills in a certain area, you can dip in where you feel necessary. Each class is a standalone theme so you can take 1, 2, 3, or 4 - and of course, we think they're all equally important!Together in this series we will explore the skills of improv at a deeper level. We'll look at specific applications and play with differing concepts, to strengthen your improv tool belt.
This is a supportive and fun environment where you can relax into silliness! Each class will include games and exercises to get us feeling loose and inspire fun, and then dive us into the topic of the day. You will be on your feet, active, trying and playing - laughs are guaranteed!

About the Improv Fundamentals workshop:
Whether you're brand new to improv or looking to refresh your foundations, this workshop covers the essential building blocks of playful, collaborative scenework. Through games and grounded exercises, you'll explore core skills like listening, agreement, spontaneity, and support. Build confidence, sharpen instincts, and reconnect with the joy of saying “yes, and”—perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to tune up their improv engine.About the Status & Power Dynamics workshop:Master the subtle (and not-so-subtle) forces that shape every interaction. This workshop explores how status—emotional, social, and physical—can create tension, comedy, and depth in your scenes. Learn how to raise or lower your status intentionally, play status games with purpose, and shift power dynamics to add richness and variety to your character work and scenework.
About the Start Strong: Openings That Matter workshop:Set the tone from your very first move. This workshop focuses on bold, clear initiations that fuel compelling scenes. Learn how to bring strong choices—whether through character, relationship, or environment—into your openings without overthinking. Discover how confident starts can unlock playful discoveries, shape the direction of a scene, and inspire your scene partners from the very first moment.
About the Justify Everything workshop:Unlock the power of justification in your improv. This workshop dives into the art of turning unexpected moments, strange offers, or "mistakes" into brilliant choices. Learn how to say "yes" with purpose, build logical worlds out of chaos, and transform confusion into clarity. Justification brings confidence, cohesion, and comic gold to your scenes—discover how to make every move feel intentional.
Our TBC Course Structure Explained:
Our courses and classes have 2 defining numbers. The first number defines the level.
100 series - Introductory
200 series - Intermediate
300 series - Advanced
400 series - Specliased
Other - Electives (varying levels)
Then the 01, 02, 03 etc. defines the type of class.101 Intro to Improv (building blocks) |102 Intro to Shortform |103 Intro to Longform
This class series is in our Electives series, and will be taking you through various core topics of improv. You can then use these skills to advance in short or longform formats.What have our past students said?

Lauren Berning is the founder of international brand TBC Improv (UK, Hong Kong and Barcelona). She has a BA in Theatre and almost 30 years of improv experience. Lauren has taught and trained around the world, and uses improv in performance, teaching and with international corporates.
Emil Lundgren is an experienced improviser with TBC Improv Spain. He has over 15 years of experience within improv, acting, clowning and generally goofing around on stage.They will both delight you with targeted content and feedback for your improv journey.

About TBC Improv:
In 2009 TBC Improv was founded in Edinburgh, Scotland. 16 years later and we have 3 global locations (UK, Hong Kong, and Spain), Barcelona being our newest branch!TBC Improv Spain is growing a vibrant community of improvisers in the heart of Barcelona. As our newest location, we're dedicated to building connection and creativity through spontaneous performance. We perform, teach and run jams, for everyone from beginners to experienced players. It’s a supportive space where collaboration thrives, all infused with Barcelona’s unique energy.
We're casting for:
Dedicated improvisers. To us this means you can join us as:
- We rehearse weekly
- We perform monthly, sometimes more, short and longform, and have been known to integrate music, invent formats and just be all kinds of silly!
- We run public jams, teach classes, and do corporate training. While we are specifically casting for performing talent, if you have also experience teaching improv, please tell us more below!About the auditions:
