What we’re about
WELCOME TO IMPROV FOR EVERYONE!
This is a group where different improv workshops, Theatre experiences, improv get-togethers, Jams, classes, shows intensive workshops or even just fun community projects are offered to adults and for children.
Improv Theatre encourages you to deepen your social skills whilst learning how to be spontaneous, trusting, authentic and respectful to ourselves and others, whether in scene work, on stage, or in our everyday professional and personal life.
Through improv we connect, learn to think positively and creatively, cooperate productively and accept mistakes and failures. We focus on empowering ourselves and others around us, letting them shine, as well as being present in the moment whilst practicing trust and safety.
Improv is simplified theater work. Everyone can shape his feelings, wishes and expression with help of his body language and his voice. The goal of improvisational theater is to liberate the human spontaneity of acting from the impulse and simultaneously integrate it into the entire human life. There is no right or wrong-good or bad...there is only your unique self which is always worth celebrating:)
Practical exercises on awareness, speech- voice use, movement, rhythm, music and dance lead to highly imaginative scenic matches and creativity. Beginners are welcome, as well as theater lovers with some knowledge.

See all- LONG FORM Improv Workshop - Finding Deeper Layers of Meaning with Paul AyrisElisabethplatz 80796 München, Bayern, , München
DETAILS:
Improvisation is a tool to create fantastic, hilarious, or thought-provoking scenes on stage. When you start to chain those scenes together, you and your scene partners can discover deeper layers of meaning, narrative or consequence, far beyond any expectations you might have had when you entered the scene. As you begin to explore narrative long-form, it's easy to get stuck in your head, worrying about what 'should' happen next, but the spark required to tell an improvised story is always kindled between you and your scene partner.Transforming that spark into a fire of narrative that can burn for half an hour, or an hour, or even longer, needs the right kind of fuel. This workshop will explore what is needed to kindle that fire, from awareness of story structure to the creation of well-rounded characters and textured environments.
The workshop relies on all participants having some existing experience with improvisation, and would not suit someone with no prior improv experience.
The workshop will be taught in English by Paul Ayris from Bake This Improv. Paul has been improvising in Munich since 2014, starting out at a Bake This open jam, and subsequently starting an improv community space in the city. Paul joined Bake This in 2016, and since then, has been a regular cast member in their signature long-form musical formats. In 2017, Paul co-founded Impro 9 From Outer Space, a long-form performance group with a science-fiction theme, and between 2016-2024, coordinated the Storytellers Night house improv team. When not engaged in any of the above, Paul is a seasoned dungeon master, working with improvisers and actors in rules-light systems with a focus on collaborative storytelling.
Note The early-bird ticket is bookable until April 21. After this time, you can book a regular or student ticket.
