What weâre about
Welcome to Improv Lisboa!
Improv is much more than comedy. There's drama, body movement, learning to read a scene, empathy for the other performer, etc.
Whether you're a seasoned performer or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome to join our open sessions.
My goal is to grow the improv community in Lisboa.

Introduction to Improvisational Theatre
Step into the world of improv where every scene is unique and unscripted! Join us for a fun-filled session where we play games, dive into characters, and explore new ways of expression.
These sessions are open to everyone, whether you're a regular participant or trying improv for the first time.Your contribution helps keep these sessions running and accessible to all. We suggest a minimum of 5 euros, but feel free to give what you can. Every bit goes directly towards creating more sessions and building this community.
Preferably, transfer via MBWay. If that's not possible, at the end you'll see the host with a red bag for contributions.đž Follow us on Instagram for updates, tips, and behind-the-scenes fun:
ImprovLisboaCommunity Guidelines for Improv
We want to ensure our open sessions are all about creativity, fun, and support! To make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable and welcome as they are, we ask that all participants keep these guidelines in mind:
* Everyone is welcome: It does not matter who you are, if you have experience or any such thing. Weâre all here to have fun, and enjoy improv!
* Be kind: We all share a space for laughter and learning. Be kind, supportive, and respectful of the people you share the stage with.
* Respecting boundaries: Improv is built on the principle of "Yes, and..." but we understand that boundaries need to be respected. If at any point you feel uncomfortable during a scene, please feel free to say "No" or use any other clear signal. Your comfort and well-being are the priority and weâll make sure to move on.
* Physicality: If a scene requires physical movement (like kneeling, standing for a long time, etc.) and it doesnât feel good, you donât have to do it - in fact, please donât! If you have doubts about this, donât hesitate to reach out.
* Touching and personal space: Physical contact in scenes is something that can happen, but always keep it within respectful and comfortable limits. Touching should be "office appropriateâ. If youâre ever unsure, donât initiate physical contact. In that line, donât pick people up. Everyone's personal space matters!
* Clothing Guidelines: If you choose to take off any clothing during a scene, please make sure it's your improv gear (think imaginary clothing - not your actual real-life shirt!). Always keep it respectful, and remember that weâre here to support and create, not to make anyone feel awkward. Want to know what to wear? We recommend something comfortable that doesn't restrict movement.
Most importantly: letâs have fun! Improv is all about playing, discovering, and supporting each other. Enjoy the experience, and help us create a fun, welcoming environment for all!
