What we’re about

We are opening up for folks who want to learn improv as well as folks focused on exercising a skill you already have. This is for adults 18 years and older. $10 donation requested for each session you attend.

Come join local improv troupe, the Home Improv Mints, as we run through some of the basics of short form improv. Wear clothes you can move around in.

We will start at 7:15. We will run until just after 9 pm. Bring yourself and a willingness to try new things - like (insert audience suggestion here)!

We try a different topic each session to see if it changes who sees the announcement. There might not be bobwhite imitations, hyena butter, lava floors, werewolves, or inflatable turnips (all things that HAVE come up), but we can promise something random.

But we encourage you to bring cookies. NOM NOM NOM!

We only have so many slots available. If you are wishy-washy, don't RSVP as a yes until you are certain. We limit the class size so everyone gets a chance to play, and ask for RSVPs so we know how many outlines to print and cookies to bake.

We understand things change sometimes. Please message us if things change and you can't make it, rather than being a No-Show. Multiple No-shows get you put on the naughty list and may get you ejected from the group. Please don't make us do that. We also will kick people out if they have signed up several years ago and never attended or visited our Meetups event pages. You have been warned.

Please donate - running a Meetup group ain't free folks. Suggested Donation is $10/session. And feel free to bring more cookies. Everybody likes cookies.

You may have come to our classes (if not, c'mon, what are you waiting for?). Want to see the exercises put together into a show? And it's a free show!

This summer the Home Improv Mints have teamed up with Fairfax County library, to bring you a series of shows, 1 each in July (@ Dolley Madison library) and August (@ John Marshall library).

The libraries have limited seating, so if you want to attend you need to get tickets from the library.

You have to register for tickets for the library shows (free, but limited capacity). The June one will be in McLean @ Dolley Madison if you want to mark your calendar. For tickets register with FFX Co library - Not on Meetup.

The ticket link is below, but it will not take reservations until 2 weeks before the show. We hope to see you there!
