Improvisation, often called improv or impro, is a form of acting, improvised conversation, where most or all of what is created at the moment it is performed.

In its purest form, the dialogue, the action, the story and the characters are created collaboratively by the players as the improvisation unfolds in present time, without use of an already prepared, written script.

Improvisation is a simple and easy way to learn skills that are useful in every aspect of life. Learned skills can help in being more creative, job performance, interpersonal relationships and even being more fun person with friends and at parties. The workshops will introduce you to fun and joyful play, expressing your authentic self, allowing yourself to fail, listening and connecting to the group, building trust and bonding with the group.

The hardest thing to learn is not “how to juggle,” but how to let the balls drop.
—ANTHONY FROST, Improvisation in Drama

Our workshops are open to all. No experience is necessary, and even the totally terrified beginner will feel safe in this class. There's usually an after party at the nearby pubs and restaurants.

Improvisation is also transforming the way we work:

"The need for more truly powerful collaborations, where the collective intelligence of a diverse set of minds is harnessed toward a common goal, is greater than ever. And yet we find collaboration vexingly difficult to do. We need better collaboration."

· by fuelling powerful innovation [The team as ASK.com at FastCompany]

· by helping generate new ideas and new ways of doing things[creativity expert Robert Epstein at CNN]

· by growing our "ability to respond effectively to the unexpected and unplanned," [from Workplace to Playspace, by Pamela Meyer]

· by helping to build trust and transforming the way we lead

And according to research from MIT "improvisation may be the key to successfully managing change".

We are creatures of community. Those individuals, societies, and cultures who learned to take care of each other, to love each other, and to nurture relationships with each other during the past several hundred thousand years were more likely to survive than those who did not.
