This Being Human is a Guesthouse: Explore Spirituality with Improv, Play & Laughter
“Within tears, find a hidden laughter; seek treasure amid ruins, sincere one.”
-Rumi
Improvisation and role play provides a creative and flexible approach to tap into our inner sources of playfulness, creativity and wisdom. Playing different roles or enacting our issues within the group, enables us to experience from a different perspective that was not necessarily available to us. Improvisational play and games have the potential to deepen our experience of inner peace and self.

This workshop is interactive, experiential group work, where we will explore our inner wisdom, spirituality and become aware of different possibilities. We will be working in a supportive, non-judgmental environment with discussion, demonstration, movement, sharing, role-play and improvisation exercises in small groups. In the process, we may discover new insights into ourselves and into our spirituality.
The theme of the workshop is spirituality and we will be exploring:
-
Building trust within the group
-
Being present and in peace
-
Improving our listening skills
-
Negotiating inner conflicts
-
Explore the inner and deeper self which is beyond ourselves
-
Engaging with our inner source of playfulness and creativity
-
Accepting and rejoicing life as is
-
Releasing tension and stress
-
Exploring spirituality within the group
-
Reflecting on a path that is pathless
The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
