What we’re about
Not 100% happy in Switzerland? You are not alone!
Switzerland is known for its stunning landscapes, wealth, and safety—but despite these advantages, not few people here still feel something is missing. Whether it’s a sense of purpose, deeper connection, or personal fulfillment, the reality is that even in a country that seems to have it all, happiness isn’t guaranteed. Morever, some people want to achieve more, still cannot reach their goals.
As a psychiatry resident and neurology specialist working in Swiss hosptials, I see this daily in my work. I encounter individuals—many of whom are dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, burnout, and more—who struggle in their lives. Tragically, I also witness everyday people at their lowest point, contemplating suicide. These are not just statistics to me—they are real people, and their stories drive me to find solutions.
This group was created because I believe we can do more—for ourselves and for each other. I myself want to always improve myself and help my patients and friends also improve theirlives; personal growth, self-empowerment, and mental well-being are essential for all of us.
Here, we’ll explore these themes through open conversations, insightful readings, and group reflections. Topics like ADHD, emotional resilience, mindfulness, and self-improvement will be central to our discussions.
This group is for anyone who wants to live intentionally, improve themselves, and grow alongside others who are committed to doing the same.
Let’s create a community where we support one another to thrive—not just survive. Join us and grow together.
What to expect:
Each session focuses on a book or topic related to self-improvement or psychological well being (e. g. burnout prevention, time management, mental clarity, or emotional well-being). We don't just read books or discuss — we want to apply the insights from these meetings to our daily lives. Together, we create a space of support, curiosity, and personal evolution.
Group discussions; no one lectures. We want to know what helped YOU!
Science-backed perspectives
Practical tools for real-life change
A supportive and non-judgmental community
Whether you simply have stress (like most if us), you're recovering from burnout or depression, or looking to better organize your time, or simply wanting to grow, you're welcome here.
Let’s learn, reflect, and grow — together

• In this meeting, we discuss again one of the best-selling books of "all time". You will never stop learning form it :)
"How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie*.
• Why this book?
This book is really a must-read and is much more than a guide to better communication — it’s a blueprint for building deeper relationships, understanding others, and creating meaningful influence "without manipulation". These skills are crucial not just for success in our professional lives, but also for cultivating trust, community, and emotional resilience — the very heart of what this group stands for.
Thriving in Switzerland—or anywhere—means more than external success. It means fostering genuine human connections, feeling seen, valued, and capable of inspiring positive change in others and in ourselves.• What are we going to discuss?
I established and managed a book club in Germany with more than 1100 members and many members seemed to have read this book. We discussed this book two times and based on these discussions came the following:
- Firstly, discuss whether "influencing" people is a good goal. Is influencing = manipulation? Do not our parents and role models influence us? What if others are harming you and are not nice to you. Should you not try to "influence" them, so as to get red of them harming you?
- Each one can share real-life experiences they had because of the book, or think they are going to have 😊 Simply tell us an idea that you liked from the book and how you think we can apply it in our lives.
- Explore practical tips from the book.
- How to improve our mental health based on tips from this book
- ... any topics related to the book that most members choose to discuss.
- Before the event ends, each one should say an idea they heard and liked during the discussion. Who said it? 😊 The person with the most "liked" ideas will get a stress ball 🙃.N. B. Reading the entire book is not required to participate! Feel free to read selected chapters or even an article about it or a video summary. What matters most is your curiosity and openness.
• When?
Saturday, 10.05.2025, 11:30 AM for 1.5 to 2 hours.• Where?
Blatterwiese, the beautiful public park beside Lake Zürich.
The weather forecast looks good. We will sit togehter in a circle on the green grass and enjoy the sun, the fresh air and the discussions. Link to the exact location on Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/4Sguk9TpXfAry38R8I will also post a photo in the comments section on the event day.
Note: Should the weather forecast change unexpectedly, we will meet in a nearby café instead. Suggestions for cozy cafés are most welcome! 😊
• Reservation?
If you reserved a place in the meeting, but later could not attend any longer, please update your participation status as soon as possible 😊• I am not sure if having a WhatsApp group is useful for our meetup. If someone is interested, they can join the WhatsApp group and then we will see if it should be used: https://chat.whatsapp.com/L5D62G0KPe38LlrwoIE3pH
However, what is certain is that the events will always be posted here on Meetup.
