What we’re about

We apply creativity and lively discussion to the challenge of identifying ways to improve everyone's quality of life. What are the bold ideas that could make life better for everyone? We discuss: public policy, the form and process of government at all levels (local, state, national, international), constitutions, economic systems, individual and neighborhood and private sector initiatives, societal performance measures, what humans want, the role and purpose of government, visions of a better future and how to get there, etc.
While the U.S. is the default focus, we also explore ideas for humanity as a whole, make international comparisons, consider international effects such as trade and human migration and globalization, look for and discuss best practices from around the world, consider the opportunities and constraints of international cooperation, etc. We approach the challenge of improving society philosophically, psychologically, politically, and intentionally - as a project. We need members from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds who bring the broadest possible range of perspectives and ideas.
Above all, we have fun and meet interesting people while challenging our minds. And perhaps we can identify some ideas that eventually become reality, or at least inspire others to think and act more effectively.
Currently we meet online, but also offer in-person events when requested. We are based in Walnut Creek, CA (near San Francisco) but welcome members from anywhere.
