A typical MINY Toastmasters meeting begins with a welcome to our guests, a Word of the Day, and prepared speeches from both new and experienced members. We then move to an impromptu speaking activity known as Table Topics, followed by speech and meeting evaluations, grammarian reports, and timer reports. Finally, we gather feedback from guests and discuss upcoming meetups and events.

Q: Is there a leader or instructor? A: The club has elected club officers present and a Toastmaster who facilitates the meeting following an agenda.

Q: Can anyone become a member? A: As long as you are at least 18 years old, you can join Toastmasters. MINY is founded on and promotes diversity of every kind.

Quick tips for new members: Practice speaking. Practice often. • Ask for a mentor if you’re not given one; an experienced Toastmaster to help you with meeting roles and speeches. • Use stories, examples, and anecdotes to craft a speech. • Don't overwhelm your audience with too much information. • Begin and end every speech strongly.
