WELCOME TO IN-PERSON, INTERMEDIATE WORKSHOPS!
ImprovSTAR.One continues to offer improv theatre workshops and classes at an intermediate level, where you will get to push limits every time!
ImprovSTAR Group, dedicates itself to making excellent improvisers, no matter your level!
It's a MINDSET, not the level that's important! We all support each other and strive to make each other shine, fill our improv-toolbox's with expertise to make you feel secure and confident:)

Improv Theatre encourages us to deepen our social skills whilst learning how to be spontaneous, trusting, authentic and respectful to ourselves and others, whether in scene work, on stage, or in our everyday professional and personal life.
Through improv we connect, learn to think positively and creatively, cooperate productively and accept mistakes and failures. We focus on empowering ourselves and others around us, letting them shine, as well as being present in the moment whilst practicing trust and safety.
We will offer selective workshops, classes and special electives on a regular basis, giving you the opportunity to grow and explore your skills in an ongoing trusting environment.
Whether you are looking to try something new to push your boundaries, or are an advanced player looking to tighten up your skills, ImprovSTAR.One will expand your imagination with fun and laughter!
You must be open to constructive criticism. It is essential that you are willing to collaborate rather than to be "the best in the room", to strive to be a better listener, to stay present in the moment, to exercise empathy and spontaneity. Reload yourself with high, positive energy!

Workshop prices:
Our regular price for a drop-in intensive 2,5-hour workshop is 15, - EUR.
For enthusiasts, we offer 5 prepaid consecutive workshops for 50, - EUR (10€ per session).
Please understand that if you have set yourself as Going (or Waitlisted), you can change your mind until midnight the previous day. Setting yourself to Not Going on the day of the event (or not showing up) is considered a no-show. If you have prepaid consecutive sessions, the normal fee will still be booked off. If you have not paid but don't respect the rsvp policy, you will still be liable to pay that session.
We hope you understand that this allows us to plan ahead, and pay the rent etc.

Joe Bill is widely regarded as one of the best teachers of Scenic, Longform, Duo Improvisation, and Improvised Storytelling in North America today. He is one of the founding members of Annoyance Theater Chicago where, for 12 years, he performed in and/or directed more than 60 different shows. He is the creator and host of Story Chain, a virtual (and now sometimes live!), 90-minute, international story sharing event that he developed in 2020 during the Pandemic. He was the Director of Corporate Training at iO Chicago for 15 years and started training and performing there in 1985. He was a Guest Artist in Residence at The Second City Training Center & Conservatory where he taught intensives in Duo Improvisation and Improvisation for Actors for 10 years**.** Joe is ½ of the original improvised Monoscene (we used to call it “Real Time”), BASSPROV with Mark Sutton, and has been touring all over the world teaching, directing, and improvising with several other amazing Duo Partners like Patti Stiles (Our Play), Jill Bernard (SCRAM!), Stacey Hallal (Stacey & Joe, We Slept Together) Lee White (Paradigm), David Razowsky (Razowsky & Bill) and Heather Urquart (Blues Hammer), ALL in different, original formats and styles. If you have already registered for this workshop, and you are no longer able to attend, our cancellation policy is as follows:
• If you change your RSVP on Meetup before the 21st April 2026 before midnight, you may replace your position with another replacement participant. You will get NO refund from us directly, but need to sort this out with them directly, and are also responsible for finding the replacement. Please understand that we need to pay our Superstars in advance as well as the rooms etc. Thank you for your understanding!
• Sorry, no refund if: You don't show up and don't change your RSVP on Meetup, you will get no refund.
Other cancellations and schedule changes
It's unlikely to happen, but we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an event due to the sudden presenter illness, or other outside circumstances. Wenn Sie noch keine Erfahrung mit Improvisation haben, kein Problem! Niemand muss auf die Bühne, alle dürfen. Egal wie unsicher und schüchtern Sie sind, hier haben Sie einen Platz. Natürlich sind auch kleine und große Rampensäue herzlich eingeladen und willkommen!
Denn ImprovStar glaubt, dass es vor allem auf eine positive und konstruktive Einstellung ankommt, die Sie als einziges mitbringen müssen :)Wie kann ich mir den Ablauf vorstellen?
Wir steigen jede Stunde mit einfachen Games ein, arbeiten anschließend an verschiedenen Soft Skills und lassen den Abend mit intensiverer Szenenarbeit ausklingen. Die Inhalte richten sich nach den Bedürfnissen und Level der Gruppe und der einzelnen Teilnehmenden aus. Die erfahrenen Lehrerinnen passen dazu ihre Methoden flexibel an.Alle gemeinsam achten auf eine wertschätzende, konstruktive und sichere Atmosphäre!

(Selection is based on your improv experience and team-player spirit)GOAL:
Aiming for Quality Shows where the same group of Improvisers train a certain Format for 3-Months together, to then put on a fantastic quality SHOW! Dedication & discipline is expected as well as being physically fit.- This is perfect for you if you want more stage time, but want to train with the same players to prepare for an unforgettable experience!
Together we will learn all the skills needed for this particular Improv format, to learn its structure intensively with focus on strengthening the very specific tools needed to also gain trust in your show-group and fellow players, who are interested in quality shows equally. You should like the film-noir genre as well as cartoons and Marvel;-)
You need to sign up & attend for 3- Intensive sessions to play in the Show.
Every 4th Thursday of each month will be training 3h, from 7 to 10pm!
