Forum Theatre Workshop | English
Details
Looking for a few more hours of movement and expression into your plans? Or would you like to explore improv a bit more in-depth, using it rather as a tool for tackling social issues and actively involving the audience in solving obstacles together?
Good news! :)
After the summer break, the Forum Theatre workshops are back!
🌌 Forum Theatre was initially developed by Augusto Boal, under the term “theatre of the oppressed”, it is a theatre method which can be used to make sense of life and give people the strength and confidence to overcome their oppressions and obstacles, together with the performers on stage. The topic is usually something of immediate importance and very often based on a shared life experience. From here on, the content remains very much improvised, yet the audience can intervene at any point (stop the performance, change the narrative, change players, step on stage).
We're cooperating for this series with Raices e.V, a Bonn-based organisation tackling intercultural education and exchange, all while enhancing the use of multilingualism. The session is facilitated primarily in English, yet if needed, working groups can be formed for German and Spanish.
Important notes
- We aim to create a safe learning environment for everybody, where the spectrum of one's individual identity is recognized and valued.
- No sexism, racism, homophobia and the like get the space.
- When it comes to humour, there is a huge amount of things that are funny, yet not offensive, so we will stick with those.
- We ask all participants to display respectful behaviour towards the group during and outside of the workshop.
Get into some comfy clothes on and join us!
