Most of us live by a sentence we never chose. "I'm only worth something when I'm useful." "Don't make a fuss." Often it comes from words we heard growing up, and it quietly shapes how we work, rest and treat ourselves.
This lunchtime session gives you about 30 minutes to find that sentence and write a better one.
HOW IT WORKS
At the start time, join the online link on this page. After a short welcome, you'll get a link to a guided reflection that you go through on your own screen, at your own pace, in English, Dutch or French.
- Look back: the words you love to hear and the ones you don't, 36 quick statements based on the Enneagram (a mirror, not a label or a scientific test), and three moments that shaped you.
- Find: put it all together and name the sentence that has been sitting underneath.
- Rewrite: reflect on a few short sentences from psychology, philosophy, the humanities and religious studies, then write a new sentence to grow from. At the end you can review your answers and save a PDF copy for yourself.
LUNCH BREAK TOO SHORT?
No problem. Your answers are saved on your device, so you can finish later the same day.
GOOD TO KNOW
- There are no right or wrong answers, and you can skip any question. - This is self-reflection, not therapy.
- In Balance was started by a small team of people of faith. The session draws mainly on psychology and philosophy, with one short part from religious studies. Everyone is welcome, whatever you believe.
OTHER TIMES
We run this session at many different times, on weekdays and weekends. If this slot doesn't work for you, check our other events and pick the one that suits you.
