What we’re about

This group is operated by (New City Library) (7/29/2019).

We are a librarian-led speculative fiction book group that meets once a month to discuss a prechosen novel. (Speculative fiction is the overarching genre the encapsulates science fiction, fantasy, horror, or any blending of the three.)

Founded in 2010, we've taken to Meetups to bring in new membership. We are open to the public and encourage new members to stop in at any meeting. (And yes, we do have regular attendees who don't use Meetups, so don't let a low response here keep you away!)

Meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month at 7pm at the New City Library in Rockland County, NY. Copies of the book will be available at the library about a month in advance; any Ramapo-Catskill Library System cardholder can check one out for free!

The group is led by librarian Karen Ostertag. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail me at 634-4997 x128 or kostertag (at) newcitylibrary.org. You can check the library's webpage at newcitylibrary.org or call 634-4997 for weather-related closings.
