Welcome to MoCo Digital Anthro: Inclusive Creative Coding Lab!

Digital Anthro is a solo practice offering digital accessibility and creative code workshops for designers, artists, developers, and creatives interested in inclusive design and tech. Workshops are designed to teach practical knowledge and skills, including assistive web technologies, interaction design, building interactive systems for art and design, and generative programming.

What is this meetup about?
The Inclusive Coding Lab was started to help both young and established professionals in the MoCo area learn programming and inclusion design through creative programming.

The DC/MD/VA creative tech/code scene is notoriously non-existent. This would also provide professionals with an interest in creative code to network and create work together.

Who is this meetup for?
This meetup is for young professionals and established professionals who are (or would like to be) in the design, art, or tech space.

Most workshops are beginner-friendly. While some coding is involved, no prior coding experience is required.

What does this meetup provide?
The job market is insane right now. These days, going to a meetup without leaving with something marketable is not an option. For every lab, there will be a project that students can use in their portfolio.
I will also provide a repository for code results or resource documents at the end of classes.

Whose the instructor?
Nate is a frontend engineer, accessibility specialist, and artist, and the founder of Digital Anthro, LLC. His work explores the intersection of creative coding, interaction design, and inclusive web technologies.

With over 10 years of experience building web applications, Nate has taught full-stack development at GWU Code Bootcamps and led workshops focused on web-based creative technology and accessibility.
