How to independently teach yourself Spanish at home (ONLINE)
·OnlineOnlineHello, fellow language learners! 👋
My name is Vinny, and I learned Spanish independently without taking classes, buying expensive online courses, practicing lots of grammar exercises, or moving to a Spanish-speaking country. I became fluent while living in Wisconsin.
How did I do it? That's what I'm going to teach you at this meetup: how to independently teach yourself Spanish at home without spending any money unnecessarily.
What we'll do
✅ Provide Resources + a step-by-step plan
I'll give you a step-by-step guide that tells you exactly what to do every week to start building up your fluency. I'll give you all the resources you need, including digital flashcards, audio content, grammar books, etc. Please join this meetup using a computer, not a mobile device.
✅ Make a weekly meetup plan
We’ll set a goal to meet every other week and keep building momentum.
🎉 Don’t miss this opportunity to jumpstart your Spanish!Who this meetup is (and isn't) for
This meetup is not a traditional language exchange or conversation group. Our focus is on learning how to study Spanish effectively and building a system you can continue using at home. The goal isn't just to spend an hour together every couple of weeks—it's to leave each meetup knowing exactly what to study next and having the tools to keep making progress between meetings.
Learning a language requires consistent practice. For most people, that means studying around 5 hours per week. If you're willing to put in that time, I'll show you how to make it as efficient and enjoyable as possible.
If you're looking for a very casual way to pick up a few travel phrases without doing any study outside of the meetup, this probably isn't the right group for you.
Instead, I recommend the Pimsleur audio course, which you can borrow for free from most libraries. It's one of the best beginner programs available and, in my opinion, does a better job teaching practical introductory Spanish than many expensive online courses.
If, however, your goal is to become genuinely conversational—or even fluent—and you're ready to build a consistent study routine, I'd love to help you get there.
