A neutral, agent-only community for independent Medicare professionals across Chicagoland. No carriers. No FMOs. No recruiters. No sales pitches. Just real, off-the-record conversation about the business.
I’m Matt Feret — longtime Medicare industry insider and author of Prepare for Medicare – The Insider’s Guide®. After 20+ years in this industry, I’ve seen how little genuine community exists for independent agents. Everything is usually:
- a recruiting pitch
- a carrier-sponsored training
- a vendor demo
- or a compliance presentation
This group is different.
It’s a small, candid space for Medicare agents to talk openly about real-world issues: distribution, client service, AEP realities, operations, staying independent, and what the future looks like.
Who this group is for:
Independent Medicare agents, brokers, and advisors across Chicagoland who want clarity, connection, and honest conversation.
Who this group is NOT for:
Carriers, FMOs, recruiters, and anyone attending with a contract-pitching or downline-building agenda.
(Agency owners who are not recruiting and simply want community are fine.)
Events are always free.
Attendance is limited to 15 per session to keep discussions productive and comfortable.
Quick transparency:
I pay for the rooms myself. I run a Medicare media and education business, and staying connected to independent agents matters to me. And because so many of us eventually think about things like slowing down, simplifying, or planning the next chapter of our careers, I’m always happy to talk privately about transitions when the time is right, but that’s never the purpose of these meetups.
These sessions are strictly for learning, clarity, and connection — not a sales funnel, not recruiting, and not tied to any organization.
