What we’re about
Hi everyone!
Welcome to Dublin Independent Movie Lovers. This is a group for everyone who loves independent and art-house cinema. We will be organising regular meetups so that members can go see films together, with the opportunity for some discussion afterwards over a coffee or drink (and maybe even some food!). Most events will take place in the IFI, Light House Cinema or Cineworld, with some events being hosted in other venues. A special effort will be made to arrange meetups during the film festivals that take place in Dublin during the year, including Dublin International Film Festival in February/March and the Arabic and French Film Festivals in the IFI in November.
Looking forward to meeting you at the cinema!

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
Running time: 110 minutes
Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Years Later - but turning that world on its head - Nia DaCosta directs 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship - with consequences that could change the world as they know it - and Spike's (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell) becomes a nightmare he can't escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival - the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.

Bulk
Running time: 1h 35m
Bulk sees Ben Wheatley return to his DIY roots following some recent adventures in Hollywood; a mind-bending sci-fi thriller in the tradition of Quatermass, Alphaville, and Primer, the film is also a love letter to cinema. When an overzealous scientist pushes his experiments with string theory too far, his brane explodes. That’s ‘brane’, not ‘brain’. Our hero Corey Harlan (Sam Riley) is sent in – kicking and screaming – to find the heart of the brane and its creator, Anton Chambers. He finds himself in a nondescript townhouse hosted by the enigmatic and multi-dimensional Aclima, a house where doors are portals to other worlds. Echoing the fate our protagonist, the very fabric of the film, the sets, and even the cameras used to shoot it, are deconstructed throughout.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Ben Wheatley.
