This Friday we will watch Woman in the Dunes (1964) by director Hiroshi Teshigahara, a Japanese thriller/horror that takes place in what was described as "Dali-esque canvas". This unique brand of Japanese cinema also acts as a commentary on poverty and political marginalisation in post-war Japan.

This film will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles.

World Cinema @ DCU is a weekly film club open to all cinema enthusiasts. Screened films are expected to have cultural depth, i.e. they have something to say about where they were made. This is a free screening followed by an engaging discussion. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available, but feel free to bring your own! If you have feedback or recommendations for future screenings, don't hesitate to contact the event organizer.

If you're driving, you can park on campus in DCU Glasnevin's multi-storey car park (detailed info on parking is available here).
