London Calling - India by Motorcycle 2026 - Jan to Feb 30 Days

India by Motorcycle is back by popular demand for Jan 2026

This Trip of a Lifetime is to be organized by a local who grew up riding these roads. The ride around India will cover 4000 miles, cross 6 States, and will last 30 days.

In February last year 13 BMW NorCal club members and 5 partners participated in the first run of this event. It was a remarkable success. I hear a lot of you are interested in such a trip, so I am planning to do it again in January 2026.

The ride will take us from jungle roads with tiger safaris, to the Taj Mahal, the symbol of love. We will relax on the warm sandy beaches of Goa on the Arabian sea, wake up to the cool hills of the Western Ghats Mountain range, visit small, fabled towns like Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, and take camel safaris into the desert. We will be covering six states on the Enfield Himalayan bikes.
We will be riding one day and then spend the next few days exploring beautiful places before we get back in the saddle. Leave your wrist watches behind and ride into incredible India!
We can also have an exclusive minivan accompanying the tour, if wives or partners who prefer a comfortable, air-conditioned drive can enjoy the tour at the same rate as the riders.

We will start our journey in the Wine Capital of India, Nasik.
Day 0 – Arrival in Bombay (Mumbai BOM) and minivan to Nasik
Day 1 – Briefing, orientation, bikes, and dinner.
Day 2 – Practice Ride around the Wine Country
Week 1 – Daulatabad Fort, Ajanta and Ellora Caves World Heritage Sites, Nagpur, Tiger Safari in the jungles of Kanha National Park
Week 2 – Sanchi Stupas 2nd Century BC, Taj Mahal Agra, Jaipur Amer Fort, Bikaner
Week 3 – Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, Camel Safari into the Thar Desert, Udaipur
Week 4 – Rani ki Vav stepwell, Road to Heaven, Dholavira Harrapan Site 5000 BC, Poona, Goa touching the Arabian Ocean beaches.

Route Total Distance – 6,000 kms/4,000 miles, 6 States, 30 Days
Riding type - We usually ride 1 day and then stay a couple of days or 3 days in a place to explore cultural and historical treasures. We do not ride everyday mostly.
Roads – Riders are advised to be prepared for unruly traffic in the towns we will be passing through. This topic will be addressed during the briefing meeting. It is imperative that all participants adhere to the directions and guidance provided by the group leaders at all times. This ride is not for beginner riders.
Accommodation includes comfortable 3- and 4-star lodgings with local character.

The journey will take 30 days, excluding travel to and from India. This is not a commercial tour. I am organizing the ride to give riders an opportunity to see India as a local would see it, all at a very reasonable cost. The cost will include accommodation at hotels, breakfast and dinners, an Enfield Himalayan bike, fuel, a backup/sag wagon to carry your bags with mechanical support with mechanics, ambulance van following behind, and local support riders to help with the ride.
