Details
Our next Read and Feed, to be held Oct 19 at 6 p.m., will be Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann. This is a true story of the murders of the world’s richest people per capita in the 1920s. Oil had been discovered in the Osage Indian nation in Oklahoma but the with the treasure came a terrible series of deadly crimes. When the death toll reached two dozen, the relatively new Federal Bureau of Investigation was called in and the mystery began to unravel, revealing a shocking conspiracy at many levels. The library has paper and e-book versions of the book . An Indian Shores library card is needed for checkout (get one for just $5 a year!).
After the discussion, the Oklahoma state meal will be served, with a full menu from fried okra to pecan pie. Suggest donation for the dinner is $10.
