Foraging Invasive Plants at Fort Harrison State Park

Details

Come out and join us for a walk and learn about invasive plants at at Fort Harrison State Park along the Fall Creek Trail.

We'll be walking about about 4 miles. Entrance to the park is $7 for in-state and $9 for out-of-state vehicle. Feel free to post a comment in the group if you'd like to find folks to carpool with.

Everyone is welcome to attend no matter how much or little you know about foraging.

Note: Participants gather and consume plants and mushrooms at their own risk.

If you are new to foraging or just want to learn to identify more plant species, I recommend downloading a plant Identification app on your phone. You should never rely on an app as a sole means of identifying a plant or mushroom, but it’s a good way to learn more and get to know more plants and mushrooms. The "Picture This" app is good for plants and "Seek" is great for identifying insects and sometimes helpful for mushrooms.
