The very first Indianapolis Global Living Room gathering. Coffee, introductions, and a chance to find out who else thought, “I’d like to be in a living room like this.” Small-group conversations at the table. No agenda beyond meeting each other and naming the kinds of questions members want to bring back.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi keep coming up in our smaller group conversations — at the last few meetups, around the brunch tables, in side chats afterward. Enough members have been quietly asking each other about the same things that it made sense to give one Sunday brunch over to the topic directly.

This isn't a presentation about Dubai. It's the conversation members are already having — just with more people at the table.

If you've been curious about what families are actually doing in Dubai and Abu Dhabi right now — buying property, watching the market, asking questions, hesitating — bring those questions. Other members will have some of the same ones, and a few will have stories from their own experience or their family's.

Cap: 15 members so everyone fits at a few brunch tables and can actually hear each other.

Brunch is on each member. We'll confirm the venue a few days before — somewhere with shareable tables, good light, and patient servers.

A meaningful share of our members are managing a home, an apartment, or a piece of land somewhere outside the U.S. — sometimes by choice, sometimes inherited, sometimes "we just never sold it." The day-to-day of actually running that life — taxes in two places, repairs you can't see, family who uses the property, currency timing, property managers you trust about 60% — doesn't get talked about much because it feels too specific to bring up casually.

This Sunday morning roundtable is for comparing those notes directly. No expert. No script. Just members who've been doing it, sharing what works, what doesn't, and what they wish they'd done differently.

What members usually want to talk about: finding and trusting a property manager from across the world, handling taxes in two countries, what to do when family members use the property, when to rent vs. leave it empty, currency timing for big repairs, insurance gaps, what happens if you inherit something abroad and don't really want it, and how to think about eventually selling — or eventually passing it on.
