Aging Parents Abroad: How Members Are Coordinating Across Time Zones
A lot of our members are quietly navigating something that doesn't get talked about much: parents getting older in another country. Some handling it alone. Some coordinating with siblings across three time zones. Some still figuring out what coordinating even looks like. This Teahouse is for members in that situation — or who can see it coming — and want to compare notes with others who get it. No expert. No agenda. Just a conversation among people who understand. What members usually bring up: how to share decisions with siblings, healthcare conversations from a distance, what to do with property and finances back home, how to talk to parents about money without it getting tense, how families end up picking one sibling to "be in charge," and the everyday emotional weight of being far away.
Format:
• Introductions (name, where your parents are, one thing on your mind)
• Open-circle conversation
• Small-group breakouts for closer conversation
• Group share-back
Cap: 16 members. In-person at MOTW. Please come ready to listen as much as to share — this topic
lands differently for different members.
What this isn't: Not a sales group. No products are offered or solicited. Nothing shared is legal, tax, real estate, or investment advice — members are always encouraged to work with their own licensed professionals before any actual decision.
