About us

If you've ever sat through a "real estate or financial group discussion" that turned out to be a sales pitch with snacks, this group is the opposite of that.

The Indianapolis Kitchen Table is a small community of homeowners, parents, working professionals, and families who simply want to talk — with each other — about the kinds of decisions that come up around an actual kitchen table. Buying a home. Carrying a mortgage. Raising kids. Helping aging parents. Figuring out what to do with money when there's some, and what to do when there isn't. The everyday adult questions that don't get answered well anywhere else.

Meetups are small on purpose. You'll introduce yourself, sit at a discussion table with four or five other members, share what you're curious about, and leave with a few people you're glad you met. We rotate locations among cafés, community spaces, and members’ living rooms across the metro, so the vibe stays casual.

Topics members bring up often: buying a first or second home, navigating a mortgage, what to ask before signing anything important, how to think about insurance and taxes as life changes, what families with relatives or property in other countries deal with, what running a small business looks like alongside family life, and the everyday confusion of trying to make smart decisions when nobody hands you the playbook.

Who shows up:
• First-time homeowners and long-time ones
• Native-born Hoosiers and people who moved here from somewhere else (sometimes a long way else)
• Young families, established families, and parents at every stage
• Small business owners, solopreneurs, and entrepreneurs who think about money differently because they have to
• People who just find these conversations interesting

Wherever you are in life, you'll find others thinking through similar questions.

Ground rules: No pitches. No products. No "opportunities." Nothing said here is legal, tax, real estate, or investment advice — we encourage everyone to work with their own licensed professionals. This is a peer community, not a service.
